The Tropenmuseum has lots of exhibits on different third world cultures. My favorite exhibits were a jeep that you could play in and a machine you could put in a number and it would play that instrument. If you go at a certain time you can participate in a special activity at the Kindermuseum. (I did a show about Bolivia and put it on for my parents.) Overall, I think the Tropenmuseum is interesting because it answers most of your questions.
