The Muiderslot Castle in Muiden is a well-placed castle because it sits at the entrance to the Isselmeer harbor and was able to control all the boats coming in and out. Because of that it has a very good view. It is possible to get a guided tour around the castle (there is not much else to see, so I think you should). Sometimes there are knights jousting, which if you are lucky, you might be able to see. They also demonstrate how knights used to put on their armor (I didn't see that so I can not recommend it. I only found out from one of the knights right before we left). When we were there we also saw a hawker, musicians, and a jester. If you don't mind climbing stairs, you can go up to the top of the tower. This castle is a very nice place because there are not many restrictions. Highly recommended.
