The Beaver Observatory near Dordrecht is a small museum where you can take a three hour boat trip and, if you look carefully, you can see a beaver lodge and windmills pumping water out of the fields. In the museum you will find lots of information. Healthy beavers have 2-3 babies a year. There is also a live showing of the inside of a beavers lodge, but while we were there the beavers were sleeping because they are nocturnal. I found this place to be very oriented towards children because there are lots of cool exhibits. For example, there is a walk-in exhibit about under water pollution that shows what is actually at the bottom of the Biesbosch, like tires and a bicycle. You can also see a beaver gnaw and a stuffed hawk attacking another bird.
